The stand seems to lift the keyboard too far away w/ those large supporting legs in front - or is it just assumed that you would use a separate keyboard w/ this thing?

I shopped for all kinds of laptop risers. You are expected to use a separate keyboard/mouse with these. The Logitech one here is the most expensive and the worst one because the height cannot be adjusted in any way.

I have to add that Logitech is without question, best with warranties and customer support. They ALWAYS make the customer happy on all their products.I've had the same treatment from Yugster.

I find it to be the best accessory purchase for my laptop ever! First, you're suppossed to have your wrists airborne when typing to combat carpal tunnel. It only takes a little while to get used to the keyboard being up 2-1/2 inches, and your arms and wrists will thank you. I absolutely LOVE this riser and highly recommend it!
