So for $4 more you get a total of 6 gigs and with a more reputable brand name, SanDisk. Yes, I know Dane-Elec has a 10 yr warranty.

You can get 5 1GB Kingston SD cards directly from Amazon for $5.56 each. If you get 5 you get free shipping and the total cost is $27.80. If you buy 5 here, the total comes to $30.75. I find Kingston to be better quality than Dane-Elec. Sorry, Yugster, I still love the site, and the deals, since 95% of the time, they're better than anywhere else. Don't hate my for voicing my opinion!!!! Please? :o\

FYI -- the average runs $2.00 - $2.50 in costs (warehouse, personnel, bubble envelopes, etc...) - before the actual costs to UPS/Fedex/etc...and all the shippers have raised their rates 20% - 50% with surcharges due to the fuel problems. We supplememnt shipping on most orders -- trust me, it's hardly a profit center. I try to give you a lot of honest insight on costs and our margins. Trust me there's no corporate Yugster Jet yet...

Diamond robbit73 Joined on 6/21/2007 Posts: 452		I think what most people don't like, is the fact that 5 tiny SD cards are being shipped for $11.00, when they could simply all be shipped Priority Mail for $4.60, or $6.00 with insurance. Believe me, I totally understand how to figure cost, when the profit is put in the shipping portion, but I think a lot of people would rather see a higher item price, and lower shipping price, so they don't get the "feeling" they're being robbed. I'm fine either way, I think it's just a perception thing. I learned to just ignore shipping and item prices as separate, and just add everything up and then decide if the cost is reasonable. I'm much happier for it. :o)

But my 2 cents is as follows I would rather ship something with a company that know what they are doing on multiple levels. Unlike the USPS which most of the times is incompetent, ups and fed ex knows what they are doing. They are professional and their tracking actually works in semi realtime, where I will have recieved a package from USPS and a week later they may update the tracking information, MAYBE. where Fed ex and UPS have a quick turnaround and I know where my package is.

I don't even need any more of these, but if the deal was better than anywhere else, I'd almost be forced to buy the 5. But, as stated above, Amazon is unfortunately still cheaper, for an equivalent, or superior, brand name. Still, you get points here, and someday they might be worth much more! After reaching Diamond, I'm not sure what additional points gets you. Maybe there should be a Platinum level, with even more savings!! I need that "initiative"...(Though Diamonds are more valuable than Platinum, right?)

While this isn't the best deal when buying multiple cards, such as 5, is is a good deal if you buy just one. Most places, when shipping is included, comes to more than Yugster does for this 1 card.
